Hurlbutt Elementary School PTO 2023-24 School Year

Below are accomplishments made possible by dedicated Hurlbutt PTO Board Members and generous contributions from Hurlbutt families!

FOR THE KIDS

• Distributed welcome-back-to-school goody bags
• Distributed Hurlbutt wall pennants to incoming Kindergarteners 
• Distributed goody bags for Friendship Week

FOR THE PARENTS

• Hosted a Mom's Night Out at Milestone
• Hosted the second parent night out, Bee Ball, and raised over $9,000 for the North House Playground improvement project

FOR FAMILIES

• Hosted a Boo Hoo to Yahoo Kindergarten coffee and 4 Community Coffee chats
• Hosted the first-ever family beach party
• Hosted the first-ever Winter Wonderland event
• Offered new spirit wear options for kids and adults
• Coordinated Picture Day and Square 1 Art fundraiser

FOR THE SCHOOL

• Purchased three new honeycomb picnic tables
• Provided welcoming and festive decorations for our entry loop
• Hosted a wildly successful Scholastic Book Fair, cleared all teacher wish lists, and raised nearly $6,000 for the upgraded LRC Makerspace
• Conducted the School Experiences online auction and raised $5,428 for the North House Playground improvement project

FOR STAFF

• Catered a Welcome Back to School luncheon & bus driver breakfast
• Handed out new bee t-shirts to all staff
• Provided snacks throughout Parent/Teacher conferences in fall and spring
• Delivered holiday and birthday gifts to our administrators

FOR THE COMMUNITY

• Donated 6 giant bags filled with hats and mittens to Person to Person
• Donated 247 lbs of candy to Operation Shoebox for deployed troops
• Donated $1,478 for the Yale New Haven Children's Hospital
